Shyheim Carter is once again a part of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Carter, a four-star cornerback from Kentwood (La.) High School, committed to Alabama over Ole Miss and Miami during a ceremony at his school.
The 6-foot, 190-pounder de-committed from Alabama in August, but his standing with the Crimson Tide changed dramatically once the team decided to hire Jeremy Pruitt as its defensive coordinator and Sam Petitto as assistant director of player personnel. Carter has a strong relationship with both men.
“Me and (Petitto) have a great relationship,” Carter said back in October. “He’s like my dad. Without him, I don’t think I’d be where I’m at today. He was always there for me. When I say always, I mean always. If I called him — I got it. If I asked him for anything, I had it.”
On Pruitt: “For the last few years that he’s been winning championships, he’s had the No. 1 defense. He’s one of the best guys out there.”
Carter is rated as the nation’s No. 9 cornerback.
