Alabama is focused on building out its 2018 class during the early signing period, but the Crimson Tide don’t take breaks from focusing on future recruiting classes.
Brendan Gant, a Class of 2019 4-star safety from Kathleen High School (Lakeland, Fla.), has committed to Alabama over Florida State. Gant is ranked as the nation’s No. 8 safety in his class.
Gant becomes the Tide’s fifth commitment in the 2019 class, joining 5-star running back Trey Sanders, 4-star offensive linemen Deyavie Hammond and Pierce Quick, and 4-star linebacker King Mwikuta.
Wide receivers coach Mike Locksley is Gant’s primary recruiter.
