Charleston Southern coach jokes about Alabama game, says 50-point spread would be “low”
Charleston Southern coach Jamey Chadwell has a good sense of humor. His Buccaneers are four days away from a likely beatdown from the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide, but he was able to laugh about it on The Paul Finebaum Show Tuesday afternoon.
“We know how good they are,” Chadwell said. “We can play our very best, Alabama could play their absolute worst, and probably still not be close. We understand that.”
He jokingly offered to “put in” part of Auburn’s playbook to help Nick Saban’s team prepare for the Iron Bowl, and said a 50-point spread probably wouldn’t be enough.
“I’m surprised it’s that low, to be honest with you,” Chadwell said. “I might even take that bet.”
Charleston Southern takes on ‘Bama at 4 pm ET on Saturday afternoon (SEC Network).
