Some good news came in for Alabama recruiting Tuesday, with 4-star OLB Chris Allen officially shutting down his recruiting process and sticking with the Crimson Tide.
“It’s pretty much shut down,” Allen told 247Sports. “I’m going to Alabama.”
LSU had made a strong final push for the Alabama commit. The Baton Rouge product even hinted on Tuesday that he might like to stay close to home.
However, an official visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend sealed things for the talented linebacker. During that trip, head coach Nick Saban asked Allen what he was thinking.
“He was pretty much just asking me am I still deciding,” Allen said. “He heard I was contemplating. I pretty much told him it’s a done deal.”
Allen is listed at 6-foot-4 and 234 pounds. He is ranked as the No. 8 outside linebacker and the No. 106 player overall for the class of 2017. He chose the Crimson Tide over offers from LSU, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and Ole Miss, among others.
