Remember a few weeks ago when Tom Arnold said Nick Saban almost became the head coach of the New York Giants? Well apparently he wasn’t the only one to hear that rumor.
New York Post columnist George Willis revealed that legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum put Saban’s representative in contact with the New York Giants. Arum additionally said the reason Saban ended up not taking the job was because his wife, Terry, did not want to leave Alabama.
“CAA was already looking for homes in New Jersey. Then Saban’s wife said they didn’t want to leave Alabama,” Arum told Willis.
Had Terry allowed the move, Willis implies that Saban could’ve become the Giants’ head coach. Instead, Saban has led Alabama to an unbeaten season and a matchup with No. 13 LSU. The Giants eventually hired Ben McAdoo, who has led the Giants to a 4-3 start. They take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
