Alabama offensive analyst Mike Locksley reportedly is expected to remain in Tuscaloosa.
Football Scoop reported on Thursday night that Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban expects to retain Locksley, who has been rumored for multiple jobs recently. Football Scoop reported that Locksley will be moved to the field in his role with the Crimson Tide.
Locksley was rumored to be Lane Kiffin’s choice for offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic, but that report proved to be false. Then there were rumors that Locksley would join Jim McElwain’s staff at Florida, but those proved to be premature.
Locksley completed his first season with Alabama. He was New Mexico’s coach from 2009-2011 and compiled a 2-26 record. He was Maryland’s offensive coordinator from 2012-2015 and served as interim coach there after Randy Edsall’s firing.
Alabama finished 14-1 after losing to Clemson in the national championship game Monday.
