Mike Locksley isn’t headed to Florida Atlantic after all.
After a FootballScoop report surfaced earlier Thursday suggesting that the Alabama offensive analyst will join Lane Kiffin as Florida Atlantic’s offensive coordinator, SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner and Marq Burnett confirmed that the report is inaccurate. FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman first reported the story.

Kiffin, who has worked as Alabama’s offensive coordinator the past three seasons, was hired to be Florida Atlantic’s coach Monday. Locksley was New Mexico’s coach from 2009-11, where he posted a 2-26 record. He also worked as Maryland’s offensive coordinator from 2012-15. He became Maryland’s interim coach in 2015 after coach Randy Edsall was fired. This season was Locksley’s first on Alabama’s staff.
Alabama faces Washington in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31.
