Alabama star Derrick Henry impressed everyone who watched his Herculean effort against Auburn in Saturday’s 29-13 Iron Bowl victory. In it, he carried the ball 46 times for 271 yards and a touchdown, a performance which sent him rumbling into the record books under some astounding categories.
Word of his incredible feats even traveled up to Big Ten country, where fellow stud tailback and Heisman Trophy candidate Ezekiel Elliott caught wind of them. The Ohio State standout gave Henry some big props on Twitter and even joked about the Tide running back’s heavy workload.
“40+ carries… Must be nice lol,” Elliott tweeted.
He added: “@KingHenry_2 good game bro. See you toting it.”
Elliott was obliquely referring to critical comments he made about his coaches’ play-calling after Ohio State lost to Michigan State last week. Elliott only carried the ball 13 times in that game.
Henry, for his part, was grateful for Elliott’s praise and returned the love.
“@EzekielElliott Thanks bro ! Looks like you a had a good day to ! Keep ballin & always keep God first , the sky is the limit bro,” Henry tweeted.
