ESPN analyst reacts to SEC hate from Alabama fans
There are college football fans, and then there are SEC fans.
Alabama fans are all-too-familiar with ESPN college football analyst Danny Kanell, a former Florida State quarterback and radio host who isn’t afraid to pick against the SEC — and Alabama — from time to time.
Kanell picked against the Crimson Tide twice this year (Ole Miss and LSU), and his takes have angered ‘Bama fans a bit over the past season.
Kanell discussed his relationship with Alabama fans with AL.com’s Michael Casagrande, saying they’re second to none.
“It’s funny because I actually love the Alabama fan base because of their passion,” Kanell said. “There is not a more passionate fan base in the country. Even though I’m on the wrong side of that passion, at least it’s there.”
Kanell is picking No. 1 Clemson to knock off Alabama in the title game, an action he knows he’ll take heat over.
It seems like Kanell just likes to be in the middle of the action.
