Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country in just about everyone’s mind right now. Heck, the Crimson Tide have 58 of the 61 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 Poll and 58 of the 60 in the Coaches Poll.
But Bama isn’t the top team in the country in ESPN anchor Peter Burns’ rankings.
Burns, filling in as the host of The Paul Finebaum Show on Thursday, revealed his top 10 teams entering Week 3. As it stands, he has Oklahoma in the top spot by virtue of the team’s 31-16 win over then-No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus last Saturday.
The Sooners are currently No. 2 in the AP Poll and No. 3 in the Coaches Poll.
Here’s a look at his full top 10, which includes three SEC teams.

Of course, Alabama has a big win under its belt just like Oklahoma, and it was impressive in its own right. Alabama took down then-No. 3 Florida State, 24-7, in Atlanta to open the season and outscored the Seminoles 14-0 after halftime.
However, Burns is high on a couple other SEC teams. Burns has LSU (No. 6) and Georgia (No. 10) in the mix despite neither team being in the top 10 of either major poll.
