Playing the what-if game is awfully dangerous. But apparently, some of Ohio State’s former players don’t mind it.
Asked about the way Ohio State’s season ended — playing Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl instead of vying for a title in the College Football Playoff — players were clearly disappointed. They felt they could have fared much better against eventual national champion Alabama.
“I think we would have definitely done a better job,” former Ohio State defensive back Tyvis Powell told AL.com’s Michael Casagrande.
“I was shocked they didn’t score a point. It is what it is. It was very disappointing. But, Alabama, it was their year. I guess everybody has their year and it was their time to win.”
Of course, Powell’s 2014 squad defeated the Crimson Tide en route to nabbing a national championship.
Unfortunately, there’s no way of telling which team would have came out on top. But surely, the speculation is quite entertaining.
