The grief over Alabama’s national championship defeat apparently extends to canines as well as humans.
One fan called into The Paul Finebaum Show to comment on the Crimson Tide’s 35-31 loss to Clemson. When Finebaum greeted him, the caller mentioned that his dog’s name was “Saban.” And apparently, the poor dog isn’t doing so well.
"My dog is named Saban. He's not taking it well. He won't eat." – Finebaum caller just now

Caller on @finebaum says his dog—Saban—hasn't been right today. "He won't eat and just wants to scratch his brother Doodle all day"

Big Alabama news usually brings out some interesting callers on Finebaum’s show. However, this one was just sad.
It’s one thing for Saban to be upset and lose his appetite. But for him to take out that frustration on poor innocent Doodle makes it even worse.
The dog can still take solace in the fact that his namesake is 5-1 in national championship games and will probably be back in the title game.
Give him a little debbie and take him back on the recruiting trail. He'll be fine.https://t.co/Il8Nyc5fNT
