When it comes to producing NFL players, the SEC tops the list.
Specifically, LSU and Alabama are leading the pack in several key positions.
No team in college football has had more players on a NFL roster on opening day at one position than LSU, who has nine. Alabama leads the pack in producing running backs, offensive guards and defensive tackles.
According to a write up on Saturday Down South, there are a combined 88 players currently in the NFL that came from LSU (45) and Alabama (43).
For Alabama, that list includes Heisman Trophy winners and running backs Derrick Henry and Mark Ingram along with Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon.
For LSU, that list includes safeties Tyrann Mathieu and Eric Reid.
