Former Alabama DB Shawn Burgess-Becker has decided where he will transfer after spending a season playing for the Crimson Tide.
Matt Zenitz of AL.com reported Wednesday that Burgess-Becker would transfer to Central Florida, citing a source close to the situation. The only thing that could have kept Burgess-Becker from transferring elsewhere would have been a scholarship offer from Miami. Other schools Zenitz said exhibited interest in Burgess-Becker include Illinois (which he visited, along with UCF) Miami, Oregon, Oregon State and Wisconsin.
The Pampano Beach, Fla., native decided in early June to transfer from Alabama. He will now attend school three hours away from his hometown at the Orlando campus.
Burgess-Becker was a 4-star recruit and the No. 10 athlete in the Class of 2015. He saw action in 13 games during Alabama’s championship season last year, most of which came on special teams.
