Former Alabama QB Greg McElroy has a new assignment for Saturdays this fall.
After spending last season as a panel member for the SEC Network’s pregame show “SEC Nation,” McElroy will take on the role of color analyst during live game broadcasts in 2016.
According to a Thursday press release from ESPN, McElroy will join a team comprised of ESPN play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch and on-field analyst Tom Luginbill. In a flurry of college football staffing announcements, it also was announced that reporter Allison Williams will join the team of Brock Huard and Bob Wischusen.
“The quality and depth of our on-air lineup continues to be one of the strengths of our college football coverage,” said ESPN senior coordinating producer Lee Fitting, according to the release. “Dave and Bob will again be front and center on high impact games in key ESPN and ABC timeslots for us. We look forward to seeing Greg and Allison in their new roles.”
McElroy, who was a national championship-winning quarterback at Alabama, spent the last two seasons as an in-studio analyst for the SEC Network.
His broadcast team’s work will be featured on ESPN and ABC college football telecasts this fall.
