Let’s put it this way — Greg McElroy and Blake Barnett aren’t likely to be exchanging pleasantries over coffee anytime soon.
The two may both belong to the Alabama quarterback fraternity, but that didn’t keep McElroy from ripping Barnett’s decision to transfer on national television on Saturday. McElroy, who is in his first year as a color analyst for ESPN, was assigned the Alabama-Kentucky game on Saturday evening.
The Crimson Tide won 34-6, and Nick Saban had a chance to go to his bench late in the game for the quarterback position. That opened up the opportunity for McElroy to share his opinion on Barnett’s decision to leave the program in the middle of a season.
Strongest comment: ESPN Greg McElroy on Alabama QB Blake Barnett transferring, "He quit on his team. You finish what you started."

McElroy is known for sticking out his situation with Alabama, waiting his turn to be the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide until his junior season. He won a national championship for Alabama in 2010.
