Just mention the name of former Alabama running back Kenyan Drake to a Clemson football fan, and they’re bound to make a sour face.
Memories of Drake’s 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of last season’s College Football Playoff national championship game are likely to come to mind. That touchdown pushed the nail-biter to a 38-27 Crimson Tide advantage, and arguable was the difference making play in Alabama’s championship victory.
So you’d think Drake has done enough to forever draw the scorn of the Clemson fan base, but the Miami Dolphins running back decided he wanted to come back for more on Friday.
Drake, who apparently keeps tabs on the Clemson football Twitter account, took a shot at the Tigers with a response to one of their tweets.
Ouch. That one likely stung because it was unexpected.
Drake is working through injuries in his first NFL training camp, so Tigers fans would likely respond that he best keep his eyes on recovery if he wants to earn significant snaps for Adam Gase’s Dolphins squad this fall.
