If there’s anyone that deserves a chance to make a joke about Ole Miss needing new turf at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, it’s former Alabama RB Kenyan Drake.
After all, that is the site of one of the most gruesome leg injuries in recent SEC history, and he is the man that suffered it.
Drake suffered a broken leg during Ole Miss’ memorable 2014 victory against Alabama in what was a horrific scene for those in attendance as well as those watching at home.
The Ole Miss Athletic Foundation tweeted a photograph of new turf being installed in Oxford on Friday morning, and Drake was quick to respond with his approval.

It is easy for Drake to joke about it now, as he has fully recovered and is on his way to an NFL career after playing a key role on the Crimson Tide’s 2015 national championship team.
Drake was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
