When a former star of the school to which you just gave a commitment messages you some words of wisdom, it’s likely a good idea to take note.
Elliot Baker made Crimson Tide fans very happy when he committed to play for Nick Saban on Monday night. The nation’s No. 2 junior college prospect, who stands at an imposing 6-foot-7 and 295 pounds, celebrated the decision like any college kid might– with a trip to Waffle House.
But while he was celebrating, former Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was busy composing a tweet to welcome him to the family:
A first-round selection of the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 draft, Clinton-Dix serves as an example of what can happen if players buy into the “process” that Saban is offering.
Clinton-Dix, who himself was a very highly touted recruit coming out of high school, was a consensus All-American in 2013 and a two-time national champion during his time in Tuscaloosa.
Baker most recently played at the City College of San Francisco and is now the 10th verbal commitment to Alabama’s 2017 recruiting class.
