Richard Mullaney’s NFL dream hit a speed bump.
The former Alabama wide receiver was waived by the Houston Texans on Monday, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson. Mullaney signed a free agent deal with Houston in May after going undrafted in April’s NFL draft.
Mullaney played one season in Tuscalossa where he hauled in 38 catches for 390 yards and five touchdowns.
Before arriving at Alabama, the Thousand Oaks, Calif., native played three seasons at Oregon State where he collected a combined 1,160 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
He chose to exercise his grad-transfer option following the departure of then-head coach Mike Riley in 2014.
