Former Alabama RB Derrick Henry is excited to play in front of his home crowd in his NFL rookie season.
No, not the one in Tuscaloosa — the Yulee, Fla., crowd that will come to watch Henry’s Tennessee Titans take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Christmas Eve.
“I’m excited about being able to come home and play in front of the home crowd,” Henry told GridirionNow.com during his bobblehead night in Jacksonville, Fla., Saturday.
Henry probably will want to put on a good show for the crowd that shows up, which hasn’t seen him play in Florida since his high school days — but if his success at rookie training camp and team OTAs is any indication, he should do just fine.
“Rookie camp went good, OTAs went good. Just can’t wait for training camp to start,” he said. “I’m out there ready to work, but it’s been a smooth transition so far.”
