The Raekwon Davis saga is over.
Davis, the four-star defensive tackle from Meridian (Miss.) High School, has shut down his recruitment. He will remain an Alabama commit.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the man above,” Davis tweeted. “It has been an extremely long journey. So I take this time to thank all the recruiters that helped me throughout my recruitment. I appreciate all the things everyone has done for me. To (LSU defensive line coach Ed) Orgeron, you have made a major impact on my life and I thank you for it. Today, I decided that I will spend the next three to four years at the University of Alabama.”
Davis has had a wild ride in his recruitment. He apparently flipped his commitment to Mississippi State after taking an official visit there, but then he told SEC Country about an hour after that he was remaining an Alabama commit.
The 6-foot-7, 327-pounder will take an official visit to Alabama this weekend after making a surprise visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend.
