Is Alabama the Wisconsin of the South? One FOX Sports analyst seems to think that the undefeated Crimson Tide have no more of an argument for making the College Football Playoff than Wisconsin.
Appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Friday, analyst Jason McIntyre said that if you take away “Alabama” from Nick Saban’s team’s résumé, it’s not very good.
Take a look at his full, steaming take below.
Alabama's resume is barely better than Wisconsin's right now. The SEC is bad.

There’s a lot of logic that goes against McIntyre’s point here, mainly that Alabama has won every game except one this season by double digits, and for the most part, is absolutely running teams off the field.
On the other hand, Wisconsin is undefeated in a down Big Ten West. According to McIntyre, the Badgers’ best win is a 9-point home victory over Northwestern, which is 6-3.
Yes, the SEC as a whole is down, but saying that Alabama is not dominant when most of its games are over early in the second half seems iffy. And the Crimson Tide will have a slew of opportunities during the next few weeks — potentially facing three ranked teams — to dispel any more talk about an easy road to the playoff.
But perhaps the best part of McIntyre’s position on Alabama’s weaknesses is that in its win last Saturday, “LSU had their best offensive game against Alabama in six years.”
The Tigers scored 10 points last week. We’ll leave it at that.
