Alabama seems like the perfect team at the moment. They’ve got a mobile quarterback who can also throw and a defense which just shutout LSU.
But FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt doesn’t quite see it the same way. First he lists the issues with the passing defense, which has given up over 400 yards twice this season. Then he says he doesn’t trust true freshman Jalen Hurts yet before finally explaining that he’s worried about the potential damage Washington could do to the Crimson Tide.

Hurts’ touchdown to turnover margin over his last four games is only negative one, and for the season it’s positive five. Alabama could only face Washington in the College Football Playoff, so Nick Saban probably isn’t letting his mind wander that far into the future yet.
Though Klatt is correct about the passing yards, the whole picture tells a different story. The Alabama defense is allowing just 258 yards passing per game and just 191 through the air. It should also say something about the talent level that the Crimson Tide can allow over 400 yards and still win games without Eddie Jackson.
Hurts has completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 1,656 yards and 11 touchdowns through the air and another 10 on the ground to lead the team in that area as well. The Huskies also haven’t been tested like the Crimson Tide, with Washington’s toughest matchup coming against Utah last week.
