Heisman finalist says Alabama’s Derrick Henry “a beast” and “going to be a top-10 pick”
The three Heisman Trophy candidates have been hanging out with each other in Atlanta and New York this week.
In that time, Derrick Henry (Alabama), Christian McCaffrey (Stanford) and Deshaun Watson (Clemson) have apparently become fast friends.
The trio tossed around plenty of compliments on Friday, and AL.com‘s Michael Casagrande kept a log.
Most notable were Watson’s thoughts on Henry, who now holds the SEC’s single-season records for rushing yards (1,986) and rushing touchdowns (23, tied with Tre Mason and Tim Tebow).
“He’s a beast,” Watson said. “Everyone sees it and that’s why he’s one of the best players if he comes out this year. He’s probably going to be a top-10 pick.”
The Heisman ceremony will begin Saturday night at 8 pm ET (ESPN).
