Former Alabama wideout Julio Jones has had a phenomenal season on the way to the NFC Championship, to the point where Washington CB Josh Norman thinks he’s the best receiver in the league.
Norman used to cover Jones regularly when he played for the Carolina Panthers. The talented corner pointed to Jones’ size, speed and route-running as the reasons why he’s so hard to stop.
“Julio is the most explosive wide receiver in the league,” Norman said. “Bar (none), hands down.”

Jones had 83 receptions for 1,409 yards and 6 touchdowns this season.
The Atlanta Falcons receiver is often mentioned with Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown, Cincinnati’s A.J. Green and the New York Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. in the discussion for the league’s best wideout. However, Norman said he knows a few things Jones doesn’t do as well that he tries to key on when they face each other.
“Those are the things I like to keep in my personal book,” Norman said.
Then again, even the star corner has trouble with Jones. In two games against Norman and Carolina last season, Jones had 16 catches for 266 yards and a touchdown.
The Falcons play the Green Bay Packers in NFC Championship Game on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ET on FOX.
