Nick Saban made it clear to Jamar King two weekends ago that he was a wanted man for his program.
King, a three-star defensive end from Mendocino College (Ukiah, Calif.), has now committed to Alabama over Ohio State and Central Florida.
“(Saban) was just telling me that he has a big need for me,” King said after taking an official visit to Alabama. “They really need me. It made me feel really good to hear that from that guy because I look up to him. He’s just an all-around good guy. He’s a really cool guy.”
The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder couldn’t name just one favorite part from his trip because there were too many to just choose one.
“It was a really good trip,” he said. “Getting to meet the players, getting a chance to meet the coaches and taking in the environment and the campus was great.”
Now, he’ll be a part of the Crimson Tide for the next two years.
