Alabama lost preferred walk-on kicker Mitchell Wasson on Tuesday, as the Class of 2016 prospect announced his decision to de-commit from the Crimson Tide in a tweet on Tuesday.
“After a lot of time and consideration I’ve decided to take a step back on what college to go to and de commit (sic) from Alabama and look at all of my options,” Wasson tweeted. “I’d like to thank Alabama’s coaching staff for the opportunity.”
Wasson is the No. 26 kicker in the nation and a two-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He was extended a preferred walk-on spot in December after Eddy Pineiro de-committed from Alabama and instead signed with Florida as an early enrollee.
