Kirk Herbstreit considers Oklahoma to be “pushing” to unseat Alabama as the nation’s top team.
On Monday, the noted ESPN analyst released his new top four, with Alabama listed as No. 1 after improving to 2-0 with a victory against Fresno State last Saturday. But while taking part in a dialogue with a fan on Twitter, he revealed that Oklahoma is hot on the Crimson Tide’s heels after the Sooners scored an impressive 31-16 win at Ohio State.
Clemson after only 8 point win over #13? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Need to watch the whole country play. Can't use myopic lens! OU dominated #2 on the road. Very deserving of #2 pushing to be #1. https://t.co/lzfL4Qinue

It will be fun to watch the progress of both Alabama and Oklahoma this season. The Crimson Tide have looked strong in games against Florida State and Fresno State. Oklahoma, meanwhile, will be a favorite to win the Big 12 once more under first-year coach Lincoln Riley.
Wouldn’t it be great to see a matchup between Alabama and Oklahoma happen in, say, the College Football Playoff?
For now, we can dream. Perhaps that delicious possibility will become a reality later this season.
