Alabama placed nine players on the official NFL scouting combine invite list, but one big name was missing on Thursday afternoon.
Quarterback Jake Coker, who participated in last month’s Senior Bowl, will not be in Indianapolis later this month if the list stands as is.
Heisman Trophy-winning running back Derrick Henry leads the group of included Crimson Tide players.
Here’s the full list:
- RB Derrick Henry
- RB Kenyan Drake
- OL Ryan Kelly
- OL Dominick Jackson
- DL A’Shawn Robinson
- DL Jarran Reed
- DL D.J. Pettway
- LB Reggie Ragland
- DB Cyrus Jones
Coker was a surprise choice for the Senior Bowl, with some experts feeling he didn’t deserve a selection. Given that, he’s still listed as a late-round prospect on several NFL draft sites, and ESPN’s Mel Kiper, Jr. noted his yearlong improvement.
His absence at the combine will likely hurt his draft stock, as Coker will miss out on several NFL interviews and a prime chance to show off his big arm against other prospects.
There are currently 18 quarterbacks invited, including the SEC’s Brandon Allen (Arkansas) and Dak Prescott (Mississippi State).
The combine will be held at Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 23-29. Fans will primarily be able to find daily coverage on NFL Network, and SEC Country will be onsite to give readers instant updates.
