Alabama coach Nick Saban didn’t take a whole lot of time to bask in the glow of Thursday night’s 38-0 thrashing of Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl semifinal game.
In his postgame interview with ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi, Saban was asked about the chances that viewers would see a smile out of the notoriously serious coach. His response was just what you would expect — although Rinaldi certainly got a kick out of it.
“Well we got another game,” Saban said. “Next week.”
Alabama will advance to face undefeated Clemson in the College Football Playoff championship game on Jan. 11. Kickoff in Glendale, Ariz., is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
