Before his wild rant about Georgia Southern woke up the press room in Tuscaloosa, Ala., coach Nick Saban took a moment for reflection Wednesday.
Saban on DL Darren Lake: There's probably not a guy on our whole team that I'm prouder of based on where he came from

Lake, a defensive tackle from York, Ala., didn’t make his first career start for the Crimson Tide until this year against Wisconsin. He’s played in eight of Alabama’s 10 games this season, and has just three total tackles — one solo and two assisted.
But it’s not Lake’s statistics Saban is the most proud of. Saban said Wednesday that Lake has made significant strides athletically, but also academically.
The senior has two regular season games left of his collegiate career before Alabama likely heads to the SEC Championship and the College Football Playoff.
