Alabama fans hate talking about “Kick Six.” And they sure don’t like Urban Meyer. Put the two together, and you’re in trouble south of Tennessee.
Meyer, the former Florida coach and current boss at Ohio State, got in a good dig at Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide when discussing his special teams unit on Thursday.
The Buckeyes have been practicing field goal returns this week, and, according to Tim Shoemaker, Meyer has a one-word name for the play: “Bama.”
For those who spent the past two years living without a wireless signal, Alabama lost to rival Auburn on a last-second field goal return in 2013. The play was dubbed “Kick Six,” and those words still engender headaches and big smiles — depending on the zip code — across the Yellowhammer State.
