TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — With Alabama playing a lesser opponent in Kent State, Nick Saban was able to see what the future of Crimson Tide football could look like in a few years.
Freshmen accounted for 4 touchdowns in the Tide’s 48-0 win over the Golden Flashes. Running back Joshua Jacobs rushed for 97 yards on 11 carries and scored 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Jalen Hurts had 164 yards through the air, 1 touchdown and 55 rushing yards with a rushing score. Linebacker Lyndell “Mack” Wilson also got in the fun, catching a 1-yard touchdown from Hurts as Wilson lined up as a fullback.
It was an all-around complete game from Alabama, and Nick Saban was finally pleased with how his team performed.
