Exclusive: 4-star LB Quay Walker, who has all-SEC top 5, has made his commitment
CORDELE, Ga. — Quay Walker, a 4-star linebacker from Crisp County High School (Cordele, Ga.), has figured out where he wants to play college football among his final five schools of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU and South Carolina.
Walker, the nation’s No. 11 outside linebacker in the Class of 2018, told SEC Country why each of the schools were considered finalists.
On Alabama: “I have connected with Coach [Nick] Saban. He’s a coach who I’ve built a good relationship with. The same goes with Coach [Derrick] Ansley, Coach [Tosh] Lupoi and Coach [Jeremy] Pruitt. My relationship with them has grown over these past weeks and months.”

On Auburn: “Coach [Gus] Malzahn is different than all of the other coaches. Coach T-Will [Travis Williams] is a father-figure type of person. I can talk to him about anything. Every time I go to Auburn I get that home feeling.”
On Florida: “That was the first SEC school to offer me. That’s a school I grew up liking and fell in love with. The coaching staff texts me almost every day to check up on me.”
On LSU: “Coach DJ [Dennis Johnson] stands out to me. It’s not all about football to me. He’s also the only coach that has checked up on my grandmother, and she’s a big part of this decision, too. That stands out to me.”
On South Carolina: “I’m not going to say that I’ve always liked them, but when I got on campus, things changed. Once I got up there, I got a feel for how it would be if I chose that school. I know they really want me there.”
