5-star DE Brenton Cox de-committed from Ohio State earlier this month. He is one of Alabama's targets on the defensive line.

Recruiting question of the day: Where does Alabama turn for help on defensive line?

The early signing period is approaching and Alabama is trying to obtain another No. 1 recruiting class. With recruiting ramping up, SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner will answer the Recruiting Question of the Day every day of the week. You can ask him your questions on Twitter or on Facebook. Find our previous question-and-answers here.

As Zack mentioned, the defensive line group for Alabama in the 2018 class is the last position group in a state of flux. The Crimson Tide have missed on several targets on the defensive line, which is unfortunate because talent is down across the board this year at that position.

There are several defensive line targets that interest Alabama: 5-star defensive end Brenton Cox, 3-star defensive ends Malik Langham and Andres Fox, and 4-star defensive tackles Tyler Friday, Bobby Brown and Christian Barmore.

Alabama has a commitment from 4-star defensive end Stephon Wynn, who I think will end up playing defensive tackle for the Crimson Tide.

As of today, I think Alabama lands Barmore, who is now expected to sign on Wednesday, and Langham, who won’t announce his decision until February.

There’s definitely some confidence with Bobby Brown, who is committed to Texas A&M. Outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi has made up ground with Brown. He’s still deciding on whether to sign early. If Brown chooses to sign in February, that definitely helps Alabama.

From talking with people on the Alabama side of things in regard to Cox, there’s still some hope that he decides to choose the Tide over Georgia when he announces on Wednesday. There’s certainly a lot of confidence on the Bulldogs’ side, though.

With regard to Eyabi Anoma, who Sean asks about: I would be surprised if the 5-star defensive end from Baltimore (being recruited as a Jack linebacker by Alabama) didn’t choose the Tide. He will announce his decision at 2 p.m. ET Wednesday.
