Nick Saban needed just two days to fill an offensive analyst position on the Alabama staff, hiring former New Mexico coach and Maryland offensive coordinator Mike Locksley.
AL.com‘s Matt Zenitz first reported the news.
The Crimson Tide lost offensive analyst Keary Colbert to USC over the weekend, an event that presumably made room for Locksley. The 46-year-old spent much of the 2015 season as Maryland’s interim boss, coaching the Terrapins to a 1-5 finish.
Locksley went 2-26 at New Mexico from 2009-11. This is his second SEC job; he spent time as Florida’s running backs coach from 2003-04.
