Alabama junior defensive back Tony Brown is facing a suspension from the NCAA, according to Aaron Suttles of Rivals.
Brown missed both of Alabama’s College Football Playoff games due to a suspension that was handed down by coach Nick Saban after the defensive back reportedly started a fight during a Cotton Bowl practice.
The suspension from the NCAA appears to stem from a different violation though, and Alabama has appealed the decision, according to Suttles.
Tony Brown's suspension is not an institution violation of rules, i.e. it is not impermissible benefits, etc.

Brown hasn’t missed a spring practice and participated in a scrimmage on Saturday, as he competes for more time in the Crimson Tide secondary in 2016.
At Saban’s introductory spring press conference in March, the coach said that Brown was “facing suspensions,” but didn’t elaborate on the details.
