After announcing his transfer from Alabama two weeks ago, former Crimson Tide defensive back Shawn Burgess-Becker is close to picking a new school.
Citing sources, AL.com’s Matt Zenitz reports that there is a “98 percent” chance that Burgess-Becker lands at Central Florida.
The only thing that could keep the Florida native from enrolling at UCF would be a scholarship offer from Miami, according to Zenitz. Burgess-Becker has visited Central Florida and Miami, and has also received interested from Oregon, Oregon State and Wisconsin.
Burgess-Becker is a former 4-star recruit and was ranked as the nation’s No. 10 athlete in the 2015 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He competed in 13 games last season with most of the action coming on special teams.
