While its uncertain whether new head coach Lane Kiffin will actually bring Mike Locksley from Alabama to Florida Atlantic, Kiffin will be bringing another Crimson Tide staff member along with him.
According to OwlAccess.com, Kiffin is bringing Charlie Weis Jr., an Alabama offensive analyst, to FAU to serve as an assistant.
Kiffin, who was introduced as FAU’s new head coach on Tuesday, is also bringing Wilson Love with him to his new school. Love will be the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He was previously an assistant to that role with the Tide.
Weis is the son of former Notre Dame and Kansas coach Charlie Weis. He served under his father while with the Jayhawks. Weis had been with Alabama since before the 2015 season.
Now, people will have to wait to see if Kiffin hires Locksley, who would be the third Alabama staffer to join the former Tide offensive coordinator at his new school. Locksley is completing his first season at Alabama after previously coaching at New Mexico and Maryland.
