Lane Kiffin is on the move, as he will be the new head coach at the Florida Atlantic. And it looks like he wants to bring one of his former quarterbacks with him.
Per Matt Zenitz of Al.com, Kiffin has reached out to former Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett in an attempt to persuade him to join him at Florida Atlantic.
Barnett committed to Arizona State last Monday, but a member of Kiffin’s staff did reach out to Barnett to try and get him to reunite with Kiffin at Florida Atlantic.
Per Zenitz though, Barnett will stick with his commitment to Arizona State. Since Barnett decided to transfer in season, he would not be eligible to play for at least the first four games of next season. Barnett was the first of three quarterbacks to transfer this season, as Cooper Bateman and David Cornwell both announced that they would be transferring as well.
Kiffin will remain with Alabama through the College Football Playoff. Alabama takes on Washington on Dec. 31 in Atlanta.
