Former Alabama standout Rolando McClain was suspended earlier this summer for 10 games for violating the league’s substance abuse policies and now he’s not with the team on its charter flight to training camp in California.
Suspended #Cowboys LB Rolando McClain is not on the team charter to California, and it doesn't appear the team has an explanation. Not good.

One would think this might be easily explainable with McClain not necessarily needing to be a big part of training camp considering he won’t be able to play until November. But apparently the team has no explanation at all for why the linebacker isn’t with the team, according to Ian Rapoport’s tweet.
Just two days ago, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told Dallas Morning News reporter Kate Hairopoulos he expected McClain to be with the team in training camp. McClain is eligible to play in the preseason. McClain signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys in the offseason.
