Can the Crimson Tide repeat as SEC champions for a third consecutive season?
Given the analysis done by the studio hosts at the SEC Network, it seems like a realistic goal within reach for the nation’s No. 1 team in the AP preseason poll.
Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy and former Arkansas quarterback Clint Stoerner went through the Crimson Tide’s regular-season schedule game-by-game on Monday and came away with the following predictions:
Overall record: 11-1 (7-1, SEC)
Sept. 3 vs. Southern California — Win
Sept. 10 vs. Western Kentucky — Win
Sept. 17 at Ole Miss — Win
Sept. 24 vs. Kent State — Win
Oct. 1 vs. Kentucky — Win
Oct. 8 at Arkansas — Loss
Oct. 15 at Tennessee — Win
Oct. 22 vs. Texas A&M — Win
Nov. 5 at LSU — Win
Nov. 12 vs. Mississippi State — Win
Nov. 19 vs. Chattanooga — Win
Nov. 26 vs. Auburn — Win

While 11-1 seems reasonable, one has to wonder whether the prediction for a loss to Arkansas had anything to do with a former Razorbacks quarterback being on the set. The Crimson Tide beat Arkansas 27-14 in 2015, and have not lost to the Razorbacks since 2006.
However, if the Crimson Tide have to lose a game, many fans may prefer an end to that nine-game winning streak against the Hogs in exchange for the predicted victory against Ole Miss, which has won each of its past two meetings with Alabama in dramatic fashion.
