Mack visited Alabama on Tuesday after being dismissed by coach Shaka Smart from Austin. The former 4-star reportedly committed to Johnson late Wednesday despite Mack reportedly looking to move closer to home in South Carolina.
Well, technically, he is closer.
Mack was averaging nearly 14.8 points and nearly 5 rebounds per game, leading the Longhorns in scoring when he was dismissed in January. The 6-foot-7 Mack will have to sit out next season as a transfer and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Mack was booted from Texas for violations of team rules. Mack orinigally signed with VCU but was released as Smart moved from there to Texas.
