NFL scouts might as well start buying houses in Tuscaloosa.
Nick Saban’s Alabama program has turned out many NFL players in his first nine seasons with the Tide.
His No. 1 team once again has many players headed for Sunday action in the future, particularly on the defensive front.
Pro Football Focus has a look at five potential first-round picks out of Bama’s front seven: DT Dalvin Tomlinson, DT Jonathan Allen, OLB Tim Williams, OLB Ryan Anderson and ILB Reuben Foster. The PFF post breaks down what makes the unit so impressive.
Tomlinson has graded at 83.5 through two games, and Allen has a stellar 88.4 for the Tide. Along the edge, Williams (80.2) and Anderson (79.8) have performed well, and Foster (89.4) is the best of them all and is outperforming Reggie Ragland’s 87.8 grade from last season.
In a mock draft this week, Rob Rang of CBSSports.com projects Allen to go seventh, Williams to go 11th and Foster to go 13th, while Tomlinson and Anderson were not slated for the first round. In his mock draft, Rang also has other Alabama standouts OT Cam Robinson (fourth), CB Marlon Humphrey (17th) and TE O.J. Howard (24th) going in the first round.
It’s a safe bet SEC offenses will continue to find out why.
