New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is headed back to the Super Bowl after a win over the Jaguars Sunday.
He’s made 13 pro bowls and 36 NFL playoff games. Brady also has five super bowl rings, but Nick Saban has him beat with six national title rings.
When the two have clashed on the gridiron, it’s come to a draw. Brady is 3-3 against Saban all-time when Brady starts, 1-1 against him when he was quarterback at Michigan and Saban was the head coach at Michigan State. They met again in the NFL when Brady and Saban split four games over two seasons in 2005 and 2006 when Brady led the Patriots and Saban was head coach of the Dolphins.
It’s unlikely the pair will meet any time soon unless Saban makes a sudden move to the NFL. While they’re even in wins and losses on the field, they’re also hated for the same reason as Kirk Herbstreit explained.
“Same reason people hate Bama and Saban–Envy,” he tweeted. “I’m not a ‘fan’ of either but an admirer of their achievements, consistency, and excellence! Incredible to watch.”
