NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah is the latest analyst to jump aboard the Tua Tagovailoa hype train.
Jeremiah witnessed the Alabama standout firsthand during the Elite 11 camp in Los Angeles this weekend and compared Tagovailoa to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
However, Tagovailoa seems to have made a successful recovery after making throws during The QB Retreat in Palisades, Calif., last week and again at the Elite 11 camp.
The former 5-star quarterback spent all of his freshman season behind starter Jalen Hurts prior to taking over during the second half of the National Championship Game against Georgia.
Tagovailoa threw 3 touchdown passes, including a 41-yard game-winner to DeVonta Smith in overtime in a 26-23 win. Tagovailoa finished 14-of-24 passing for 166 yards with an interception and 27 rushing yards and was named the Offensive MVP of the game.
Alabama will kick off the 2018 season against Louisville on Sept. 1 in Orlando, Fla. While coach Nick Saban hasn’t named a starter, many believe it’s Tagovailoa’s job to lose following his heroic title game performance.
Loved watching @Tuaamann_ tonight. @BuckyBrooks nailed it— he’s a left handed Russell Wilson. Quick feet, ball jumps out of his hand and he has ++ anticipation, velocity and accuracy. Can’t wait for you guys to hear our interview with him on MTS pod. He was excellent.
