One of the most interesting angles entering Monday was Alabama’s ability to transition from Lane Kiffin to Steve Sarkisian at offensive coordinator in a brief amount of time.
The Crimson Tide made the change after the Peach Bowl, and Sarkisian stepped into the role after serving as an offensive analyst for the program in recent months.
Early Monday night, Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough made Sarkisian look smart by running for two touchdowns to lift the Crimson Tide to a 14-0 lead. But Alabama’s offense stalled late in the first half, causing frustration among some as Clemson closed the deficit to 14-7 by halftime.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction to Sarkisian’s first-half performance:
Sarkisian making this look easy. It's this simple – give it to #9. #nationalchampionship

Sarkisian > Venables right now. Better adjust quickly or you're done.
