USA Today’s Dan Wolken: Put Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt on head-coaching lists this year

USA Today’s Dan Wolken expects Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt to be considered for head-coaching jobs soon.

On Tuesday, the college football reporter used Twitter to say that Pruitt hired powerful agent Jimmy Sexton this summer. Wolken then added, “Bottom line, you can go ahead and put Pruitt on head coaching lists this year.”

Check out Wolken’s full thought below.

It wouldn’t surprise to see Pruitt rumored for a number of notable jobs if and when they become available. After all, he has established himself as one of the best defensive minds in college football.

We all saw Pruitt’s work last year in molding Alabama’s defense into one of the most feared the sport has ever seen. Granted, Clemson wore down the Crimson Tide by the end of the national championship game. But it’s easy to envision Alabama fielding a dominant defense again.

As coaching rumors heat up later this fall, don’t be surprised to see Pruitt’s name mentioned if the Crimson Tide’s defense is dominant once more.
