Alabama’s national title defense might begin at a neutral site, but Southern Cal is encouraging fans to show up in droves for the season-opening showdown between the Trojans and the Tide.
With just 102 days until the mega matchup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USC has released a shirt encouraging fans to “Invade Texas.’

Alabama holds the geographic advantage, however. Crimson Tide fans would have to trek more than 600 miles from Tuscaloosa to the 100,000-seat sports cathedral, while Trojans fans will have more than 1,400 miles to travel from Los Angeles to Arlington. It’s a manageable nine-hour road trip for any Bama diehards, compared to a nearly 22-hour car ride for USC faithful.
But given the magnitude of the game and the two programs competing, don’t be surprised to see a capacity crowd for arguably the biggest game of opening weekend.
